The development of Aikido in Indonesia :: Pilih: Versi Indonesia
KBAI Foundation tries to develop and propagate Aikido in Indonesia and also to enrich the cultural treasures of Indonesia. KBAI foundation officially established in August 11, 1994, whose the founders are Ir. M. Gazali, Drs Mohamad Razif and Ir. Ferdiansyah with advisors and supervisors Ulyana Purba. Police Colonel and Maman S. Colonel CPM. While "Aikido Indonesia" had its activities since December 1988. Now, "Aikido Indonesia" is under umbrella of KBAI foundation to run its activities.
Head of Aikido Indonesia, Ferdiansyah has been active in the pioneering and development of Aikido in Indonesia since 1986. With his dedication to aikido's development he has promoted many black belts in Indonesia since 1988 until now. The students have been also acting in some other Aikido organizations in Indonesia and also spread to other countries, like the United States, Iran, Malaysia and several other countries as a trusted instructor of Aikido.
In 1999, by honorary invitation from Hombu Aikikai, Ferdiansyah attended the meeting of leaders of organizations representing Indonesia in the inaguration ceremony Aikikai World Leaders of 3rd Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba in Tokyo.
The development has been done by creating private and public dojos through schools, universities, private companies, professional and government institutions. At present KBAI has made development in the Jakarta, West Kalimantan, west Java, Cilegon-Banten, Medan-North Sumatra, East Java, Mataram-West Nusa Tenggara.
